Set in a beautiful luxury homestead and stunning natural landscape we encourage our couples to create lasting memories of their wedding, sharing food, wine and special moments with the people they are closest to.
AN INTIMATE GUEST LIST
With accommodation onsite for up to 16, we specialise in intimate high end weddings for 10 to 30 (ish). The local area has some wonderful accommodation nearby for additional guests. Being eco friendly, sustainability is important to us so everything about our weddings is designed to leave a small footprint on the land.
Our boutique weddings are a unique and memorable 2 to 5 day experience. Couples usually choose to hold their wedding on a Saturday and have brunch on the lawn on the Sunday.
The details
CEREMONY
We have some lovely places on the property for your ceremony. The favourite is overlooking the Matakana Estuary and Mt Tamahunga. If, however, the weather isn’t so good, a small, clear marquee on the west lawn is a great option. Additionally, the Boat House can be converted for an indoor ceremony - gorgeous with the backdrop of the enormous barn doors and masses of candles. Also perfect for a winter wedding.
WEDDING CELEBRATION
Our couples usually choose to have a casual sit down meal using trestle tables on our west verandah with beautiful views over the estuary and Mt Tamahunga. Couples who want a simpler vibe choose to have drinks and nibbles on the west lawn using wine barrels and umbrellas. Our petanque set is available for a bit of fun!
BRIDE AND GROOM ARRIVAL

MUSIC
Music can make your day very special and we can recommend some great local musicians. We do however need to keep noise levels down so recommend a string quartet, or perhaps a guitar player and singer. We also have a great sound system if you would just like to play your favourite music. There is a local Council noise curfew of 9 pm that we would ask you to respect.

Anna Dobson is a wonderful local florist who grows most of her own flowers. She is passionate about roses and loves to weave them into natural bouquets and table arrangements which are the signature of Bluestone Weddings.
Tara and the team at Twig & Bloom are incredibly creative and have a natural talent and eye for form and colour. They make the most beautiful wedding arches and will work closely with you to bring your wedding vision to life.
TRANSPORT AND PARKING
The fabulous team at Mairide can transport your guests to and from Matakana in their luxury mini vans (7 minute ride). We have parking onsite for approx 12 cars.

Lance Hutchison has been a marriage celebrant for 20 years. His warm and authentic style endears him to the bride and groom and wedding guests every time. Most importantly he listens and will craft your ceremony for your unique style. We love Lance and think you will too.
Rates
Wedding rates include a minimum of 2 nights accommodation across the entire property for up to 16 guests at the rate of $12,000 per night plus cleaning fee of $1900. Additional nights are at the normal nightly rate. Please note that peak periods attract a surcharge.
We structure the 2 days according to your plans. For example, 5 pm on a Friday until 5 pm on a Sunday if you want to have a pre wedding get together the night before the wedding, or 8 am Saturday morning to 8 am Monday morning if you would like to have a full days get together on the Sunday.
NB additional time needed for pack in and pack out or wedding party preparation are charged on a pro rata basis.
