Bluestone Estate hosts gatherings the way we do everything: privately, personally and without an audience. A board meeting around one table, a milestone dinner, or one of the handful of weddings we host each year, with the coast beyond the glass, your people around you, and somewhere beautiful to stay when the evening is over.

Private gatherings

The Cookhouse hosts intimate private gatherings for twelve to eighteen around a well-loved, reclaimed oak table. Larger celebrations are considered individually. Every gathering is thoughtfully planned with our team, with a focus on creating a unique and memorable experience shaped around your occasion and the people you are bringing together. Details and pricing are agreed before you book.

Offsites, board meetings, client events and retreat weekends.

Strategy with a view. Bring a board or leadership team somewhere with the space and quiet to think differently. Important conversations often happen when the usual distractions fall away: around one table, on a walk, or over dinner at the end of the day.

Choose the Cookhouse at Bluestone Ridge for a private day around the oak table with the Gulf beyond the glass, or take Bluestone Main Estate for a leadership team in residence. Both are an hour from Auckland by road or twenty minutes by helicopter.

For strategy days, board meetings or hosting clients, the Cookhouse offers what a city boardroom cannot: one long oak table, the Gulf beyond the glass, complete privacy and the space to think. A projector, drop-down screen, blackout blinds and Starlink take care of the practicalities, while the deck, lawn, pool terrace and Farmhouse give conversations somewhere else to go.

Stay at the Farmhouse and the working day becomes an evening together, with a private chef cooking dinner just for your table. From May to October, the Cookhouse can also be booked on its own for the day.

At Bluestone Main Estate.

Take sole occupancy of Bluestone Main Estate and a board or leadership team has the entire property to itself. The Main House becomes the heart of the retreat, with the long table for working sessions, generous living spaces around the bluestone fireplace and a fully equipped office when someone needs to step away. The Boat House provides a second meeting space, with a conference table for twelve and screen for presentations, ideal for breakouts, smaller groups and one-to-ones. Beyond them, the terrace, pool deck and lawns give conversations room to move outside.

A private chef can take care of dinner around the long table, or catering can run quietly in the background from breakfast onwards. When the work is done, there's the firepit beneath the southern sky; by morning, the pool, tennis court, gym and eight e-bikes. Space to work seriously, then leave the boardroom behind.

Small by design. With twelve bedrooms across Bluestone Main Estate and the Encampment, a board or leadership team has the time and space for the thinking that rarely happens in the office. Work around the Main House table in the morning, take the afternoon outside, then come back together over dinner.

We plan the weekend with you, the working rhythm, private dining, facilitation and time away from the table, with one point of contact throughout. On the estate, there's tennis, pétanque, the pool and e-bikes. Beyond the gates, Matakana brings its famous weekend markets, boutique vineyards, rustic-chic restaurants, coastal hikes and beaches, with private days arranged by our local touring partner.

Celebrations

Milestones, reunions, and long lunches.

A significant birthday, an anniversary, a family reunion, the whole clan around the table for the first time in years. At the Cookhouse that means a lunch that runs into the evening or a dinner that runs late, a chef in the kitchen, and the Farmhouse beside it so nobody drives home. In summer the lower deck, the lawn games, and the pool carry the afternoon; in winter the oven glows and the Farmhouse fire does the rest.

For a larger family, Bluestone Main Estate as a whole: the Main House, the Boat House, and the Studio for eighteen, with the pool, the tennis court, and the long table under one roof.

Weddings

The long lunch wedding.

At Bluestone Estate, we love a daytime wedding. Vows on the lawn with the Hauraki Gulf beyond, followed by a long, beautiful lunch with the people you love most. Our signature package brings together two of the coast's best, a chef-led kitchen and an experienced events team, so the day feels effortless. You choose the flowers, the celebrant and the dress; we take care of the rest.

The entire property is private for your celebration, with the Farmhouse for the wedding party and the days either side to settle in and enjoy the coast. Available for quoting soon.

We do host one or two evening weddings each year, with sole use of Bluestone Ridge and a marquee on the lawn for up to 100 guests. Questions about events

How many people can an event at Bluestone Estate hold?

Twelve to eighteen at the Cookhouse table for dinners and meetings. For weddings, a marquee on the lawn at the Farmhouse seats up to 100.

Can we book the whole property for our event?

Yes. Bluestone Ridge as a whole gives you the Farmhouse and the Cookhouse; Bluestone Main Estate as a whole gives you the Main House, the Boat House, and the Studio for eighteen. Guests who stay are guests who have already arrived.

Do you host weddings?

Yes, a handful a year, on the lawn at the Farmhouse at Bluestone Ridge, each with the whole property to itself: vows with the Hauraki Gulf behind you, a marquee for up to 100 at a seated dinner, the Farmhouse for the wedding party, and the days either side. Tell us your date and numbers and we will say what is possible.

Is there somewhere to work?

The Cookhouse takes a projector and screen, the table takes laptops, and Starlink keeps the connection fast. Breakout spaces are all around it: the lower deck, the lawn, the pool terrace, the Farmhouse lounge.

Who plans it?

Our team, with you. Tell us the occasion, the numbers, and the dates, and Bluestone Estate comes back with what is possible, a private chef and a menu, and a price, confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
