Bluestone Estate

Questions

Asked before you have to.

Will we share Bluestone Estate with other guests?

No. Every booking is private and exclusive to your party. Book an individual residence and it is entirely yours; book the whole property and every residence and shared space is yours alone. The only exception is Bluestone Encampment, where the three residences share the pool and laundry when booked separately.

Is Bluestone Estate a lodge?

No, and the difference matters. There is no shared dining room, no timetable and no other guests. You have the service and attention of a luxury lodge, but entirely on your terms, and entirely in private.

Can children make noise and play freely?

Yes. There are no other guests to disturb. Kids run barefoot across the paddocks, cannonball into the pool, and fall asleep at the table.

Do we have our own pool, dining, and chef?

Yes, exclusively, with one stated exception at Bluestone Encampment where the pool is shared between its three residences unless you book the Encampment on a sole occupancy basis.

Do we have to take the full service?

No. Choose fully self-catered, fully hosted, or anywhere between, for each stay or each day, and change your mind mid-stay.

Are any facilities shared at Bluestone Encampment?

The pool and the laundry, when the Cabins and the two Safari Tents are booked separately. Each residence has its own bathroom and kitchen. Take the whole Encampment and nothing is shared.

Can I book just one residence, or do I have to take everything?

Either. All seven residences are bookable individually, and any property may be booked on a sole occupancy basis.

How far is Bluestone Estate from Auckland?

One hour by car from Auckland CBD and seventy-five minutes from Auckland International Airport, or twenty minutes by helicopter to the estate's helipad. Matakana Village is seven minutes away and Te Arai Links forty.

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 11 am. Ask about an earlier arrival or later departure and we will see if we can make it work based on our calendar.

What is the minimum stay?

Two nights. Five nights over 20 December to 5 January, and three nights on New Zealand public holiday weekends.

Can we hold a wedding or a large event?

The Cookhouse hosts intimate private gatherings for twelve to eighteen around a well-loved, reclaimed oak table. Larger celebrations are considered individually, and details and pricing are agreed before you book.

Can we bring our own nanny, chef or security?

Yes. Staff quarters are available on the Main Estate by arrangement for a guest's own nanny, security or private chef. Tell us when you book and we will have them ready.
