Guests' words

This is the most beautiful little place to stay, inside and out. Everything is extremely high quality and comfortable. Super private and secure, and surrounded by beautiful nature. Perfect location between the regional park and Matakana. We were so sad to leave! Loved our stay, and have already recommended it to friends and family.

A couple, the Studio

I highly recommend it: comfy, cosy, quiet, and a great place to reset. The outdoor bath is amazing and perfect during the night. Our host was amazing to communicate with and responded quickly to any questions we had.

A guest, the Studio

Peaceful, nestled in a mānuka grove, with thoughtful touches from the host in how it has been set up, making for a cosy, relaxing stay. Thank you!

The Studio

A light-filled space for two, warm and beautifully put together. The oak kitchen has a gas hob and oven, retro baby Smeg fridge and espresso machine, with a stylish bathroom tucked behind a sliding door. The bed can be a queen or two singles, with beautiful linen.

The grounds

The deck and the bath outdoors

A sunny timber deck tucked among mānuka and flax, with Adirondack chairs made for doing very little. The vintage clawfoot bath sits beneath the open sky and, if you're lucky, you'll hear kiwi calling nearby after dark.

Questions

Who is the Studio for?

Two people. The Studio at Bluestone Estate is one light-filled room, made for a couple, a solo stay, or a friend or family member travelling with a party in The Main House who would like a door of their own.

Can the bed be two singles?

Yes. The Studio sleeps two, as a queen or as two single bunks; tell us which when you book. Two is the limit; there is no room for a third.

Is the Studio private?

Yes. It is a separate residence on the Main Estate with its own entrance, its own kitchen and bathroom, and a deck and outdoor bath that are yours alone. The Main House and the Boat House have their own guests, unless you book sole occupancy of Bluestone Main Estate.

Can we use the pool, the tennis court, the gym, and the yoga dome?

The Studio has its own deck, and a vintage bath on the deck. The infinity pool, the tennis court, the gym, and the yoga dome belong to The Main House and are used by Main House guests exclusively.

Is there a kitchen?

Yes, and a proper one: an oak kitchen with a gas hob, an oven, a fridge, and an espresso machine. Pantry provisioning before you arrive can be arranged, and the Matakana Village Farmers Market is seven minutes by car on Saturday mornings.

Can we book the Studio with The Main House?

Yes. The Main House sleeps twelve and the Studio two, a little apart from the party. With the Boat House as well, sole occupancy of Bluestone Main Estate sleeps eighteen and the whole property is yours.
